The Guide

Welcome to our new guide!

This guide is a complete business directory for the Powell River area, including Lund and Texada Island. It is available as a free book as well as online, and is published every 2-3 years by Model Community Project.

Books are available now at numerous locations in Powell River and on Texada, including the Tourism Center on Joyce Ave, the Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, The Town Centre Hotel and our office at 4476 Marine Ave (up behind the bowling alley).

In this 8th edition of the guide, businesses, services and public areas are listed in categories similar to the yellow pages, with address and/or contact info, as well as an Accessibility Rating.

We visited each location to rate accessibility for people with limited mobility and these ratings are explained on the rating system page. Further details of accessibility are in diagrams.

“The Powell River Model Community Project for Persons With Disabilities” is  a non-profit organization in Powell River that advocates for and provides services to persons with disabilities.
